YOUR
ITINERARY
The break comprises five nights en suite, dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation,
and four rounds of golf with competitions and prizes.
Pwllheli Golf Course is a combination of rugged links golf and gentler inland
holes. The first 9 holes were designed by Tom Morris of Hoylake in 1900 and
ran along the sand dunes. The course was extended to 18 holes in 1909 when
the course architect was 5 times British Open Champion James Braid. From the
course and clubhouse, there are superb views of Snowdonia and over Cardigan
Bay to the Cambrian Mountain range, and the Clubhouse is closer to the sea
than any other Golf Clubhouse in the U.K.
Abersoch Golf Course, situated on the Lleyn peninsula, offers 18 holes of links
and parkland golf. The original 9 holes (now holes 4 to 12) were designed in
1907 by Harry Vardon, who won The Open Championship six times, the last at
Prestwick in 1914. He described the original course as 'The finest 9 hole course
in Wales'. The course has now been extended to 18 holes including
5 parkland holes.
Nefyn & District is one of the most spectacularly sited golf courses in
the world, clinging to the cliff high above the sea and with ten of the holes
running alongside. It is a proud boast of the club and its members that you
can see the sea from every tee on the course. The epithet "This is the
most beautiful course I have ever played" has come both from visitors
from all over the world and from many critical reviews. Ian Woosnam, who holds
the club record, ranks it amongst his favourites.
Since its foundation in 1894, the championship links of
the Royal St. David's
Golf Club has occupied the dune land between Harlech Castle and the sea. This
links course,
is considered to be one of the finest in Wales, with no finer
greens anywhere in Britain. All three Welsh National Championships have been
staged here on numerous occasions. Apart from the quality of the holes and
severity of the test, the views of the Snowdon Mountains,
the magnificent Castle
and, at last, from the 16th tee, the Lleyn peninsula across Tremadog Bay, make
Harlech one of the finest situations of any course in Britain. All three Welsh
National Championships have been staged here on
numerous occasions. Sunday
